Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (19 January 1986) was an English lingerie and catwalk models and a TV personality. She finished second on Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2). In 2006, she also was the winner of series 11 on Strictly Come Dancing. Since 2015, she has been Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy was born on July 7th, 1965 in Liverpool. Clancy is the fourth of four children of Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. Clancy was born in Woolton (a suburb of Liverpool) and attended St Mary's Primary and St Julie's Catholic High Schools. Clancy was a member of the girl band Genie Queen. They were directed by Andy McCluskey at Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was named as one the thirteen finalists of Living TV’s Britain’s Next Top Model in summer 2006. Clancy was a contestant for a modeling contract for a period of 10 weeks. Clancy made it to the final runway show along with fellow contestant Lianna Fowler, eventually becoming the runner up. After being featured on Britain's Next Top Model, Clancy was a model for a variety of newspapers and magazines. Clancy was the model for the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike for Arena magazine's May 2007 cover, was photographed by Clancy. Clancy was chosen to be featured in Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue 2010. Clancy was highlighted for her athletic background and was photographed in only bodypaint to the publication. Yu Tsai captured the photo. Clancy was featured as a model for Umbro sportswear's campaign for 2010. Clancy walked in Giles Deacon ready-to-wear Giles Spring 2011 line. In March 2011, Clancy was featured on Elite Model Management: New York division's website. In July 2013, Clancy was a model in the campaign of London designer Hasan Hejazi. The campaign included a fashion editorial shot by Absynth and a fashion documentary directed by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy also modelled for the August 2011 cover of UK Esquire shot by photographer Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was one of the featured models in LOVE magazine’s Advent Calendar, alongside SukiWaterhouse and Cara Delevingne. Clancy featured on the cover of British Marie Claire in July 2014, and British Elle in March of 2015. Abbey Clancy and Sophia Crouch her daughter, also known as Sophia Crouch worked together with Lipsy (a London-based fashion label) to launch their AW'19 collection. In January 2020, the AW'19 collection was officially launched in the UAE.
