Abraham Benjamin de Villiers
Abraham Benjamin de Villiers (born 17 February 1984) is a former South African professional cricketer. De Villiers was named as the ICC ODI Player of the Year three times during his 15-year international career and was one of the five Wisden cricketers of the decade at the end of 2019.AB de Villiers began his international career as a wicket-keeper-batsman, but he has played most often solely as a batsman. He played in a variety of positions in the batting order, but predominantly in the middle order. De Villiers is thought of as one the most creative and destructive batsmen of our times, as well as one among the top players of all time. He is also well-known for his unique shots, especially in the direction of the wicket-keeper. In 2004, he played his international debut against England. He also made his debut in the One Day International (ODI), in 2005. The first time he played in Twenty20 International cricket was in the year 2006. He has scored over 8000 runs during Test cricket, as well as ODI cricket. He is also one of very few players with an average of over fifty across both formats. He is a formidable player of limited overs cricket. In only 31 balls, De Villiers has a record of the fastest ODI century. De Villiers played as captain of South Africa across all three formats. But, following several injuries and a series of injuries, he was forced take a break from the captaincy of Test cricket.
